The 4Sevens Maelstrom X7 features a unique 4-point switch engagement in the head of the flashlight that allows the user to smoothly and silently select the different outputs by tightening or loosening the head. Every quarter turn of the head selects a different output. The seven modes of the Maelstrom X7 are split in two sets, Regular (Moonlight, Low, Medium, High) and Special (Beacon, S.O.S., Strobe, High). The 4Sevens Maelstrom X7's highest output is 446 lumens and the lowest output level, the moonlight mode, is rated for over 6 days of continuous output at .28 lumen. The Maelstrom has a one-inch weapon mountable aluminum body with a Type III hard anodized finish and a generous amount of knurling for grip. The impact-resistant glass lens is dual coated; sapphire coating on the outside and anti-reflective coating on the inside. Waterproof to IPX-8 standard: 1 meter, 30 minutes.
The Maelstrom has advanced LEDs and optics with the brightest, farthest-projecting solution in a compact, rugged package using a highly efficient top-binned CREE XM-L emitter that is fine-tuned with a deep, smooth reflector that makes for a useful range of over 100 meters. The Maelstrom has a removable grip ring, clip, and crenated stainless steel strike bezel. The shock-mounted battery design holds the batteries firmly inside to the body of the light, avoiding self-destructive battery movement. 4Sevens patent-pending anti-rattle design accommodates both 2xCR123A and 1x18650 without the need of spacers or adapters. Custom molded holster shaped for the Maelstrom G5 is designed to help retain the light even when flap is open. The tactical, momentary 'clicky' switch is fully exposed in the tailcap for easy access, even when wearing gloves.
