Mark Nevling, the craftsman and creator of Burr Oak Knives, discovered his knack for knife-making in 1987 when he created his first knife. He has continued in perfecting his work since that time, now as a full-time maker with a skill set that is evidenced in the exemplary knives he produces. Mark Nevling is also a volunteer firefighter and a certified first responder in Hume, Illinois; this gives him working knowledge of the particular needs of these professionals.
This Splinter folder has a 416/52100 San Mai Damascus steel drop point blade. The blade opens with the thumb stud opener on front and the back side is stamped "Burr Oak Nevling". The handle features Mokume bolsters and lightning strike carbon fiber scales. Filed titanium liners, steel back spacer, and blade spine. This knife comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, dated 11/21/13.
