Description

Description

For 2015 Cold Steel has added a premium Carpenter CTS-BD1 stainless steel blade to the Rajah 3 folding knife!

The Rajah III is basically a scaled down, more pocket friendly, version of its big brother the Rajah II. Designed by Andrew Demko, it shares almost all the major features of the Rajah II including a Tri-Adô lock, thumb plate opener, ambidextrous pocket clips, and a Grivory handle with steel liners for extra strength and rigidity.

The Rajah IIIís handle offers a number of grip options due to its carefully sculptured shape and cross section and is particularly well suited to the reverse grip thanks to a unique thumb shelf built into the butt.

Missing the mark, but respectable

Good: Tri-Ad lock is well constructed. Pocket clip has good options and feels good in pocket.

Not so good: Handle material, a bit slick when when wet. Blade material is lacking in strength. Tip was compromised on normal use. Blade lost its edge after 2 day camping outing. Used for: Slicing small branches to make tinder for campfire and cutting 30 feet of Paracord into 5 ft sections. After cutting through 1/4" branches the first 1-1/8" of blade looked chipped.

Suggestions: Make blade AUS8 change handle material for better wet applications.

Comments: Knife is just okay. I would say really worth about $39.99, I love Cold Steel, but they missed the mark on this model.
