The packaging touts Made in America... the whole 39 series from Gerber touts its heritage of being an American brand, etc. I really appreciate all that, BUT I don't feel that the workmanship on this knife should be associated with Made in USA. I find that the Zinc handles appear to be coated, and unevenly at that--especially near the liners. You can easily see lines in this area. It's not a big deal, and has no bearing on the functionality of the knife. In fact, functionally, the knife is solid. Blade looks good, it opens well with the thumb studs and locks up nicely. The sheath is nice, and the pocket clip is silver, unlike the one pictured on this website. I just feel that for $60, the finish should have been better--especially being American made. For reasons like this, I recommend the Buck brand for budget friendly, USA made knives.
