I bought this Microtech from Blade HQ and I'm glad I did. As usual, the service from Blade HQ was awesome. I've owned a Socom Alpha Custom Fixed Blade in Tanto before and it was a beautiful knife with a hand ground blade, leather sheath, and ceramic coating. That knife was around $850.00 or so. Every Microtech production knife from the UTX-75, Ultratech, LUDT, Crosshair (OTF's, Folders, Auto's, and Fixed Blades) truly have custom qualities.

This production Socom Alpha comes out of the box with a DLC coating with a clip point blade that's as sharp as any Microtech Custom I've ever bought. So are the Microtech Customs worth it? Absolutely, they're works of art. But the value is in the production knives. Point is, you get a lot of bang for your buck with this production knife that has custom qualities to also include beautiful carbon fiber scales without having buyer's remorse that can sometimes come with those customs, lol.

The knife fits comfortably in the hand and jimping on the top scale allows for firm gripping. The knife fits perfectly and locks into the kydex sheath. The blade! Premium Elmax steel that comes razor sharp out of the box. Scary, scary sharp. Like most Microtech Fixed Blade knives, this is a knife meant for hunting or well...war. It would do very well as a battle knife. $300 plus is a lot of money to pay for any knife and for that kind of money you have tons of options. But if you're looking for a first class (and classy!) fixed blade knife I highly recommend this. It's a sick, sick blade! Five Stars.
