The Dark Angel feels light for its size. The contours of the handle feel perfect in my hand. Overall size seems in the optimal range for every day carry. The safety is a bit tight but it should be or it wouldn't be a very safe safety. The release button is flush with the larger contours but situated in a recessed area, making it easy to press when you want to, but unlikely to press by accident. Button pressure to release is just a little on the light side, feels about perfect to me. The release button's travel to release is very short, not quite hair trigger, but on the short side, again ideal in my opinion. One must keep fingers out of the way of the recharging lever when releasing the blade or deployment will be slowed down and won't completely extend and lock. For that reason, it must be held like a side-action automatic when deploying. The action is excellent, firm but not excessively so. If there is anything I would change, it would be reducing the size of the recharging lever, so it is less likely to brush a finger and slow or stop the blade's deployment. Lockup is very tight, minor perceptible play that will likely always be present with every OTF. The edge is very good, not quite as sharp as I would prefer, but sharp enough to make it dangerous if handled carelessly. The tip is extremely sharp. Fit and finish are superb. The deployment mechanism design seems to me to be simple and therefore highly reliable, a feature I really like. This knife inspires confidence. It is my first Protech, and I'm very happy with it.
