Description

Description

Southern Grind produces high quality, American made knives from their metal shop in Peachtree City, Georgia. The Rhino is a heavy duty fixed blade knife with a D2 steel blade and a black micarta handle. The innovatively designed handle features a built in two-stage flashlight. This light can be removed but also works great from the handle position. The pommel of the knife has a lanyard hole and a bottle opener as an added bonus. Comes equipped with a black Kydex belt sheath with a button snap. The Southern Grind Rhino offers heavy duty construction and a practical design.

The Rhino, an everything in one sort of blade kit, is strong, durable, sharp, experimental, interesting, and very useful. The entire knife is machined out of D2 steel, a tool steel famous for its wear resistance and toughness making it perfect for hard use applications. The flat grind clip-point blade, most popular with hunters, is milled in a way to allow easier release from matter helping with cleaner cuts. The deep jimping on the spine gives it a cogwheel-like look and creates an awesome grip for your thumb whilst working with the blade. Where you would find a typical blood groove on a hunting blade they've opted to use this area as a multi-wrench system. Being full-tang they took it a step further and modified the pommel of the knife to work as a screw-driver, emergency glass breaker, bottle opener, and pry bar. The most unique part comes in the skeletonised handle and the attached G10 scales which are left hollowed out for an inserted and removable OLight S10 baton 400 lumens flashlight. Weird? I thought so at first but it's also a big reason I was drawn to it originally and have found it quite useful. I love the built in OLight! It comes with a tough hybrid kydex/leather sheath for your belt. The entire knife and sheath comes packaged in a custom Pelican 1170 waterproof, crushproof case for transport and just cool presentation. The Rhino may not be for everyone but for those looking for an all-in-one approach to a hunting knife, camping knife or in my case an emergency fixed blade, I can highly recommend it and I absolutely love it.
