Updated by Blade HQ Staff Writer Logan Rainey on 2/10/2020
Are you interested in picking up a new Spyderco knife? We've tested all the different options so you don't have to. Here's our pick of the 7 best knives from Spyderco.
After we break down the specs and details of each knife, I’ll include a review from one of our beloved customers.
1. Spyderco Paramilitary 2
If you could do only have one knife in your kit, there might not be a better choice than the PM2. The Paramilitary 2 packs a ton of punch in the blade department with its full flat grind. An ergonomic, lightweight handle provides a confident, secure grip. Are you really a knife guy if you haven’t owned a PM2? For these reasons, the PM2 gets our vote for best Spyderco knife. Check out our PM2 review if you're still not convinced.
- 3.44" CPM-S30V Clip Point Blade

Alex K. says…
"First knife, best knife... This was my first knife in my collection and I still use and love it to this day! Its strong and durable blade is a working man's best friend. I have a huge collection of knives, some I rarely use... Despite how long this knife has been in my collection, it still finds constant use, whether it is around the house or at work."
2. Spyderco Tenacious
The Tenacious is a budget-friendly beast of a knife. You get close to 3.5” of blade, G-10 handle scales, stainless steel liners, and a 4-way reversible clip, all for under $50. This knife excels as an EDC, and there are countless scale color options to choose from.
- 3.39" 8Cr13MoV Drop Point Blade
- G-10 Handle Scales
- 4.10 oz. Weight
- Made in China
Daniel D. says…
“I wanted an affordable user and still special. Once I received my knife it was instantly put to use every day when I was doing plumbing and electric work. Having the easier to sharpen 8Cr13MoV steel was perfect for being able to touch up the edge in an instant. I use this knife and don't feel bad about beating it up because it takes it. I wash it off with a little alcohol, drop a little oil on it, and throw it back in my bag or pocket. It’s a great user knife that you don't feel guilty about using.”
3. Spyderco Delica
The Delica has many varieties. It is a made-in-Japan classic known for its lightweight FRN handle scales and VG-10 blade. The flat sabre-grind is durable and comes to a fine, nimble point. This version comes with the Emerson Wave opening feature on the top of the blade for lightning-quick deployment as you pull it out of your pocket.
- 2.90" VG-10 Drop Point Blade
- FRN Handle Scales
- 2.50 oz. Weight
- Made in Japan
Stephen M. says…
"Awesome knife. I have put this knife through the ringer and it’s never failed me. I carried it as a backup during a 10-month tour in Afghanistan. Just a little work on the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker when I got home, good as new. Great product.”
4. Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt
The Spyderco Salt series is famous for an incredible resistance to corrosion. If you take your knife fishing, boating, or live in a humid environment, there’s no better choice than H1 steel as your companion. Don’t take my word for it? Check out our ‘Will It Rust’ video to see these knives in action at The Great Salt Lake!
- 2.25" H1 Drop Point Blade
- FRN Handle Scales
- 1.20 oz. Weight
- Made in Japan
Yancey N. says…
"This knife will never rust on you. I love to fish and this is the knife that stays in my tackle box at all times. I have cut line, shaved some hair off baits, shaved some hair off my arm—it does it all. The edge is wicked sharp and only needs to be honed up every once in a while. Wonderful purchase and haven't regretted it once!”
5. Spyderco Para 3
You can think of the Spyderco Para 3 as the baby brother to the PM2. The Para 3 (and it’s not the Paramilitary 3) is perfect for EDC knife with the same great materials and Golden, CO construction you find on the Paramilitary 2 we featured above. If you have stringent blade length restrictions where you live, this knife may be the perfect option. It's also available in a lightweight version that features FRN scales and a deep carry pocket clip.
- 3.00" CPM-S30V Clip Point Blade
- G-10 Handle Scales
- 3.40 oz. Weight
- Made in USA
Christopher H. says…
“I love my Para 3! This is my favorite EDC out of my knife collection. The blade is a perfect size for normal everyday use and doesn't draw unwanted attention. The blade came razor sharp and opens and closes smoothly with one hand. The combination of the finger choil at the base of the blade and the ergonomics of the handle make it a perfect fit for my large hands. I cannot recommend the Para 3 enough!”
6. Spyderco Lil' Native
The Lil’ Native shines with first-rate ergonomics and a utilitarian, leaf shaped blade. This knife slices like a champ and the forward finger choil provides for versatile grip options. This knife makes for an excellent office carry option, but it can easily stand up to harder use thanks to stainless steel liners behind that G-10.
- 2.47" CPM-S30V Drop Point Blade
- G-10 Handle Scales
- 2.40 oz. Weight
- Made in USA
Joshua B. says…
“Awesome size for EDC. This thing disappears in the pocket due to its size and weight. The finish on the blade is awesome. This is my first knife with the compression lock and it won't be my last. The wire pocket clip is great.”
7. Spyderco Spydiechef
When Marcin Slysz releases a design through Spyderco, it’s safe money to bet it’s going to be an awesome knife. From the Techno to the Slysz Bowie, it’s nearly impossible to keep these knives in stock. Durable titanium scales complement an LC200N blade that has rust resistance second only to the H1 Salt Series mentioned above. Grab one of these if you can because it’s sure to be a collector’s item in the future.
- 3.32" LC200N Sheepsfoot Blade
- Titanium Handle Scales
- 3.78 oz. Weight
- Made in Taiwan
Shane M. says…
“I've wanted this knife for a long time and finally landed one last week. I couldn't be happier!! Its slim, lightweight, but also has a strong feel about it. The steel is amazing in the way that it doesn't need to be pampered or oiled all the time, also holds an edge comparable to S35VN... It has tremendous cutting capabilities and the blade profile allows you to really get the whole blade down and into your materials being cut. Overall great knife. Everyone who likes knives should at least have this in their hand one time... If you’re on the fence.....don’t be… This knife couldn't disappoint if it tried. Not to mention, you couldn't tear it up with a bulldozer and a jackhammer! Buy 2. 1 for each hand!"
