Description

Description

The Architect Sheath is an extremely durable kydex sheath custom made to fit the TOPS C.U.T. fixed blade. This Architect model comes in a black color. It comes standard with 2 soft nylon loops that include mil-spec Pull-the-Dot snaps. The Architect is a fully ambidextrous sheath so it can be worn on either side of the body and drawn from any direction. T

Features:
  • Fold-over sheath design offers far superior strength and retention than two-piece pancake style sheaths.
  • Retention is set on each individual Architect sheath to snap firmly in place and never shake loose.
  • Built in thumb ramp with a recessed finger index allows for fast and smooth deployment despite the firm blade retention.
  • Compatible with Tek Lok, Mini Tek Lok, MALICE clips, and IWB Over-hooks.

I purchased this at the same time that I bought the C.U.T. anticipating that the factory sheath wouldn’t be quite to my liking. All in all the factory sheath was actually quite well done.

This sheath is definitely of excellent quality, the snap loop attachments do appear to be a little better quality than the ones provided with the factory sheath from tops, and the holes were spaced appropriately to accommodate for tek-lok attachments as well.

The knife fits in the sheath near perfect with a solid *snap*, and should remove any concern of accidentally finding itself falling out of the sheath.

My only issue I had is that the sheath holds the blade in so tight, that unsheathing the blade without using your thumb to apply pressure to the thumb ramp on the spine of the sheath requires way more force than I feel is necessary. I personally decided to remove the snap loops and use a small tek-lok. While unsheathing the knife in a reverse grip is possible, it seemed way more difficult than it should be. The only position I found comfortable to draw from was forward carry, as applying pressure with your thumb allows for a much easier and more comfortable draw.
