Arno Bernard Knives was started in 2005 by Arno Bernard Jr., who was joined two years later by his brother Franco. Both share a passion for knives. Arno and Franco are the sons of Arno Bernard Senior, an internationally well-known knifemaker. They have said that much of the success of Arno Bernard Knives can be attributed to the guidance and training they have received from their father.

Arno Bernard Knives are made in the town of Bethlehem in South Africa. Each knife design has been inspired by an animal of Africa and each share a practical and aesthetically pleasing quality. These knives are hand-made with pride and come in a variety of exotic handle materials that are hand filed and polished. The blades are hollow ground freehand and utilize Bohler N690 stainless steel, which is tempered in-house to ensure the highest quality. These are exceptional knives that you'll certainly love.

Beautiful knife
Dion M.
This knife is exquisitely made. The fit and finish are just about perfect. The grind and taper on the blade and tang are amazing. I've never been a fan of bone handles, but the giraffe bone is just... well... awesome -- Though mine is more reddish in hue than the knife in the picture. But, these are hand made and no two are alike. The handles are also beautifully finished.

I ordered a Galago in spalted maple when I ordered the Gecko and it's just as well made.

I wish I'd discovered these knives long ago. I'll be buying more of them.

Blade HQ has the best prices on them that I've found, though my search was not exhaustive. I'm sure someone could pipe up with their "Well I found one on eBay, or blah..." story. But who cares, Blade HQ has great customer service.
