Like the comment before mine; I was worried this was just going to be strictly a novelty item. One for playing around with while at home, but it turned out to be much more...While it is a novelty piece, it is quite usable and stable! I am very impressed. It’s made with s90v which is a great steel! The serration on the top is asceticly pleasing and functional. The gravity opening mechanism works great right out of the box.little to no blade play. I mean there are so many great things to say about this knife! Easily one of my new favorites! Thumbs up
I was worried this was just a novelty that also happened to be a knife. Fortunately, it's a nice knife that's also a novelty. I wish this were offered with an unpainted blade, as the steels used are corrosion resistant, and I fear finish will wear off after contact with handle scales. Imprint of steel type on blade is so tiny that it's impossible to distinguish S30V from S90V, which could be an issue if you resell the knife. Still, the lock up is excellent. Very innovative and collectible, but also usable.
I'll cut right to the chase by saying that this knife arrived broken! Out of the box, the thing would not open almost at all! However, being the stubborn guy that I am, I said "screw the warranty," and took the thing apart to find the problem. Low and behold, the knife had been manufactured incorrectly, as only 3/4 steel stoppers which are supposed to give the knife its buttery smooth opening we're milled correctly. This caused the knife to be nearly impossible to open. However, after rearranging the steel stoppers, I've beaten the knife into working properly. That isn't to say that's its perfect now. Although it opens correctly, it's scratching up the black finish, which really isn't a complaint for me... Overall, it's not the sharpest knife, but it really isn't supposed to be anyway. It's SUPER fun to play with! And overall, I'd say it's worth it... BUT DONT TAKE IT APART! If it ain't working, SEND IT BACK!
