Description

Description

The Bark River STS-3 fixed blade knife is a scaled down version of the classic STS-5 combat knife. Designed for the U.S. Marine Corps Force Recon, the smaller STS-3 retains all of the capabilities of it's larger brother in a more lightweight, nimble package. CPM-154 stainless steel steel provides a tough, stainless blade with excellent edge retention. Removable tan camouflage G-10 scales provide a sure grip in hand, or reduce weight for a skeletonized option. The integrated lanyard hole provides an easy way to grasp or provide additional leverage while in use. Capable of tactical situation or processing a deer, the STS-3 is sure to stand up to where ever it finds itself.

I bought this knife 4 or five months ago and figured I would finally write a review. The knife came with some significant edge problems. It had a several rolled areas, a very small bend near the base and a just barely bent tip. It also came dirty and oily. Not too mention when I took the scales off later the handle had rust on the handle. Also the steel is advertised wrong here, it is 154 cm not CPM 154, there is a difference. It was the worst condition I have ever recieved a knife. I knew I could return it to blade hq. There customer service for me has been awsome. Judging from a balisong I bought and returned after it fell apart in ten minutes. They were great with that. And another time they helped me when my bank was being stupid. I decided to keep the knife because I planned on modifying it, and i know how to fix an edge. I also contacted bark river and they said I could send it too them. But I am not buying another bark river knife. There are way better quality options like falkniven. Now that I fixed it, rounded the handle scales and modified the handle, it is a good knife. Not worth the money though. I wanted a thick chunk of a knife and I got one. I hope this may help when looking at this knife.
