Lacking fit and finish... and not safe.

Update 1/30/18: It deployed in my pocket I got a very smal cut. I now believe the safety design is a complete rule breaker I would not carry this knife unless the design of the safety were changed. I'm a bit pissed because in spite of the rought finish this is an otherwise beautifully designed knife that I do not want to return.
Original review for what it is worth.
Like and love.
I like the weight. I like the blade steel and shape but would love to see a flat ground clip point. I like having another CA legal auto in the collection. I love the design of the truly "deep" carry clip that positions the entire knife completely inside of the pocket (Kershaw take note!). I love the open pillar design for both the aesthetics and ease of cleaning.

I have been spoiled a bit by my Kershaw Launch 4s but both had unimpressive edges out of box.
The Bear Ops needed light touch up with a few passes on a 600 stone and some stroping for the edge to be sharp out of the box. Although on one of my Luanch 4s I actually had to completely rework the edge. Unlike my launch 4 all of the transition edges on the handle and pocket clip on the Bear Ops are more than a bit sharp for my taste so its just not comfortable in my hand.

My biggest criticism centers on the safety that is completely reliant on friction. With no detent it provides no perceivable "snick" whatsoever! Will it go off in my pocket? The release button seems prominent enough that it could activate without the safety being snicked on and I could easily imagine the safety switch inadvertently sliding back when entering the pocket. If after engaging the safety if you press the release button it tightens up against the saftey switch to the point that I am sure its fine but... come on now! I'm not smart enough to remember all of that! It's a bit of a safety issue but not a complete deal breaker.

I see this as a thirty dollar knife with a twenty dollar mark up for being an Auto.
