Customer Reviews

Love the action of the griptilian
John W. on Jan 19, 2018

Everyone knows that griptilians are workhorse edc’s, they come out the box super sharp, axis lock is a great for a lefty like me, and what I love the most is the sound that it makes when I flick it open. I have a ZT and Spyder with good action, but my Griptilian gives me the most satisfaction. Who needs a spinner when you have a knife with excellent action.

You'll never want to part with it

There's a reason the Griptilian is always recommended and that's because it won't let you down. The plastic handle can be slick, but it's never been a problem.

It's a... BENCHMADE!

I had the mini grip and loved it so I got this one. Love the color combo and everything else about the knife. Benchmade is also an awesome company.

Probably the most acclaimed EDC. Ever.
Sam V. on Nov 8, 2016

Benchmade is an absolute quality knife crafter, and this knife is no exception. This model has been my first choice, go-to EDC knife for 4, going on 5 years. I bought it when it was about 85-90$ range, and that was obviously the right choice. All aspects are incredible. The blade shape, steel, and finish are all amazing. Pivot is butter smooth, and paired with the Axis lock, it not only is easy to deploy and fold, but it has a very solid lockup. Everything else you could try to criticize, but it shows almost no flaw. Only one thing I changed on my own was the pocket clip. At the release of the G10 grey/blue model of the Griptillian, I loved the deep carry clip. Benchmade offers free replacement clips for free, upon request at their website. I simply asked for a deep carry, swapped it out for the standard clip, and now I love this knife even more.

Best gift ever

I had never owned a benchmade before this one. I got a buddy a bugout as a gift and he told me that I needed a benchmade in my collection (since it's full of spydercos and some qtrmstrs). I've been buying more quality knives for a couple years now.. I used to love crkt, but they just don't use decent blade steel in my opinion. Ever since I've used s30v I refuse to go back to 8cr13mov or Aus 8 or any other basic steel, it just doesn't hold an edge anymore.. all that malarkey being said, my grip in d2 is an absolute workhorse!! Bite the bullet and pay the extra money for a quality knife and you won't regret it!! 50 bucks for a crkt or 100 for a benchmade? No doubt I'll grab the slightly more expensive but way better material knife

Great All Purpose Knife
Josh R. on Jan 19, 2018

The Benchmade Griptillian has been a very versatile blade in my experience. I have used this blade as a work knife, edc blade, and tool for camping/backpacking trips. The blade shape is awesome and the axis lock has never failed. The handle is a bit wide so it does take up more room in your pocket than a skinnier knife would. I find it's nice to have more handle to hold when performing harder cutting tasks though. The handle yes is also made of plastic. This is why I rated this blade at 4 and not 5 stars. This is a great knife that has proven itself, however, and has a cheaper price point than many other knives from benchmade.

Good quality
Trevor N. on Jan 5, 2018

I liked how they made the grip with plastic in the aspect of cutting the weight down.. however after carrying a ZT around the plastic feels faulty compared to a slab of titanium. Good knife!

Best EDC knife
Anders S. on Jan 5, 2018

Benchmade makes some great knives and the griptillian is probably my favorite. It's super tough but it also feels super light in hand. The axis lock has great lockup. I have no doubts in my mind the it would fail while using it. Plus the fidget factor is pretty cool. You can just sit there flipping it open and closed with ease just by pulling back the lock and flicking your wrist. It's a great knife, my one issue is the handle feels a little plasticy when compared to g10 scales but still feels good in hand
