The Boker Caracal 42 features the same design as the popular Caracal, but this one features a slip joint mechanism. This slip joint, however, has a locking feature. In the tang of the handle lies a 0.13" steel pin held in by spring loaded ball bearings, which fits into a hole near the pivot. That hole goes through the handle and lockbar, and makes the blade lock open or closed. Often, slip joints are overlooked because they don't lock, but when locked, the Caracal 42 is stronger that most locks out there.
