Customer Reviews

Suburb workmanship

**Update, 4 months, slight side to side blade play, going to have to tighten it** I've had this knife for about a month now and taken it with me everywhere. Writing this review to defend this great knife. I bought it from another online store but this thing is amazing. If you have large hands, this knife will fit in your hand -perfectly-. It actually feels like when you pick up some soft clay and mush it in your fist and you can see your weird hand indention. yeah, freaking perfect fit. The GFN handles are as hard as G-10. The entire blade shape is tilted forward, that I find makes the knife very comfortable to cut with. The lockback is NOT STIFF. I don't know what kind of pansies are complaining about trying to close this thing but it's just a lockback like every other lockback. No problems with lock out either. There is a clicking sound when the blade is locked out. It's the stop-pin inside the handle. it's not a big deal and it stops making that sound when closed. There is no "grind" when I open my knife. Reminder that there is no bushing or bearing system, this is not a "flipper" knife. No problem with my pocket clip. Seems well made and very slick, yet firm. Excellent steel, arguably better than vg-10. Impeccable blade geometry. Flat grind sabre is a +A. Light weight and stout. I find it hard to find a better workhorse that is this nimble and and under $100.

It's not perfect.. but nothing is.

Smaller than a Delica. Deeper/better carry than a Delica. Lighter than a Delica. Better grip than a Delica. Better steel than a Delica. (arguably) Just as good of an action as a Delica. (It's not perfect... like any backlock... but it breaks in). Longer blade than a Delica! (closer to an Endura than a Delica) Sorry to compare it so much to a Delica, but it's really the closest competitor. My Patriot will stay in my permanent collection. My Delica still sits BNIB. I have L/XL hands and I use this knife for backpacking. It is a supplement to a 3.5" fixed blade. It weighs almost nothing and is amazingly capable for what it costs to carry. I can't think of another knife that is anywhere near as good of a value in weight vs capability, especially once you factor in price. The next closest would be the S110V Manix 2 LW... but it is MASSIVE in pocket, despite its light weight.

Not for me

This is was my first Boker purchased and it's a bit of a let down. Very stiff lock bar which I thought would loosen some after opening and closing the knife but all it did was loosen the pivot screw. Also there is grind you can feel when opening the knife and can actually see a line forming where the lock and blade slide against each other. A pin behind the lock bar seems to be to short and there's a audible clicking sound when the blade is open. Worst yet has to bee feel in hand. Now I chock this up to hand size and personal taste but with medium sized hands I couldn't seem to find a comfortable grip. This being the first knife like that for me. Not all is bad though. It does have good steel and a great blade shape that I could see using for any edc needs.

Not super stoked

Just received my Patriot today, don't get too excited about this one people. Extremely stiff lock bar, very gritty action and a pocket clip that will swivel no matter how tight it is. Also that finger choil looking thing is NOT a choil (unless you want to cut your finger). This isn't the knife we want to be proud of being made in the USA. With all that being said I will add that it is a very good looking knife with decent steel, excellent jimping and a nice light weight to it. I was so hyped about this knife when I first saw it at shot show, what a huge let down when I finally received one. One last thing. Kudos to BHQ for the amazingly fast shipping. I ordered this knife on Saturday afternoon and received it on Monday (UT to OH).
