Description

Description

The Brous Blades Strife is a compelling design from custom knife maker Dustin Turpin. It has an easily recognizable compound ground blade with a cutout on the top, which helps facilitate forward grip cutting tasks. Effortless blade deployment is accomplished using the proprietary Brous bearing system in tandem with a flipper opener.

Attractive and lightweight carbon fiber scales are 3D milled and attached to skeletonized titanium liners. It has a flow-through carbon fiber back spacer. Lastly, the Strife has been outfitted with Brous' deep carry pocket clip and a reversible lanyard loop that make it a strong everyday carry choice.

I have been collecting knives for quite some time now and had never heard if this knife, l primarily collect balisongs but as of late have been getting into flippers and frame locks in general. Across the different retailers i have seen this was a astonishingly good price so i couldn't resist , i also had prior experience with brous blades and they're b3 model Wich was a love hate knife for me. I have talked to Jason him self and he is a cool guy. Most reviews I've seen mention the detent, and on mine this was true as well, it was almost impossible to open unless using both hands, but i figured a way to easily do it pushing on the flipper and pulling up simultaneously on the thumb ramp. I Did this for hours all together, also When i received nmy knife it had some horrible lock stick l. This is also not the first time I've had frame/liner locks behave this way, about 4 other high end production companies have sent knives with horrible lock stick and i would just return them. This time though i was really in love with the knife aesthetically so inhit YouTube,. Come to find out that both issues aren't as much of issues as they are design characteristics. With the lock and detent being so firm when they start to wear they will reach peak tolerance, as were most others lose lock life or detent retention. I can definitely see why others were upset, but i will tell you i am glad i stuck it out. This knife is now my second favorite amongst crk, Medford, strider to name the tops in my collection. Awesome knife and bladehq is amazing every time!!!

The MSRP for this knife is over $500. Bought it "on sale" for $250. Detent is much too stiff - very difficult to flip.

Lock-up is excellent but release of liner lock requires too much friction pressure to overcome.

I own 3 other Brous Blades and have no significant issues with any of them. Returned this one due to these flaws and the pocket clip/deployment.

Correct these issues, or find one without them, and it's a 5 star knife.
