Bought the BHQ exclusive with D2 steel and brass scales. It's a beautiful knife, I'm totally in love with it. A message to CRKT: When checking out reviews and shopping, I had to be careful I wasn't getting the flipper version of this knife. I recognize almost every review I watched featured complaints about the tip-down carry and lack of a flipper; I want to emphasize those two things are the main reason I picked the CEO over other nice-looking knives. The way this one looks also set it aside for me. Nothing compares to the appearance of the CEO in my eyes. With the brass scales, it's one of the best-looking knives I've ever seen. In addition to everything I've already mentioned, there's nothing about this knife I don't like. The recessed thumb stud isn't the problem for me, it's something I appreciate.
I've admired the CRKT CEO for awhile, and had been waiting for a version with a metal handle! I knew it was going to be slim, but was still surprised by how small it is in person. I really love the convenient size, and how light it is. The action is really smooth, and the pocket clip has the perfect amount of tension. My only complaint with this piece is that I have a hard time operating the thumb stud; it's either too smooth or not proud enough from the scales. I'd love a flipper version...
Really love this knife. Great addition to my office stationary( hint hint, it’s pretty much all brass and gold colored down to my swing line stapler 😂) If I did have to have a complaint, I’d have preferred a flipper tab over the groove scale required for a thumb stud. It would have been even more symmetrical and sleeker. But it’s just my personal aesthetic preference. Detent is a little light but I am fine with that as I’ve dealt with a stiff detent and that would have made me return the knife. Great collab BHQ & CRKT!
Just got it in. A really nice piece. I really like that it has a nice heft to it. It's my first CEO and I think this is a good option for this style of knife. I will say this, the hardware is NOT a satin finish, but is all a stonewash finish. I was expecting satin to match other EDC hardware I have but it does look fine.
