The CRKT Bona Fide, designed by Ken Onion, is a great addition to the Field Strip line. The takedown mechanisms has been streamlined, so all it takes to take the knife apart is tilting the slide in the handle and pushing it toward the front. After that, the knife comes apart into three pieces, easy to put together again. The handle scales are made from aluminum, and the blade is made from 1.4116 stainless steel.
I carried a CRKT Slacker for 2 years, and field strip has been invaluable whenever I go camping, so when I heard there was a new field strip design, I knew I had to get it. The new field strip mechanism took some time to break in, but now it works flawlessly. My only issue with this knife is the pocket clip. it's the same one as the Slacker, which has a hole drilled through it to make space for a screw/screwdriver, and that hole is a weak spot. I bumped into a door frame, and the clip was completely shorn off. I had a similar issue with the Slacker on a canoeing trip. CRKT's customer service and part replacement is good enough that it doesn't matter enough to me to lose a star, but it might be something to consider if you are looking at this knife.
