The CRKT P.S.D., or Particle Separation Device, is a tactical/EDC knife that is perfect for all kinds of cutting tasks. The harpoon-style point is reinforced with a swedge. The blade has a gentle recurve and a deep belly for slicing. The handle accommodates a grip further back for added leverage, and a grip close to the blade for detailed work.
Features:The ergonomics of this knife are great. Good grip all around even when choking up near the blade. Smooth Opening too. The blue accents are nice. Would drop $200 if CRKT would make a better version of this knife with better steel, but otherwise, it is a pretty knife.
This blade is slowly becoming my FAV EDC. Rivaled only by the Kershaw Knockout. The blade thickness, and length are spot on. The grip is a great texture and just the right size for my hands. The angle of the edge is perfect for what I need and I appreciate the tip down carry option. My only notes would be the assist action is a little too eager and the clip could be a bit longer to give it a bit more play. Minor things when everything else is so on point.
Starting at the back of the knife, it has a smooth end which allows for a comfortable grip with the blade pointing down. The scales are nicely textured which provides confidence when handling the knife. The blade is super sharp out of the box and holds an edge well. The opening action is seamless and the sound it makes is elegant and reassures you of the structural integrity of the knife each time it is opened. Finally, the blue spacers are a nice touch that accent the knife perfectly with the subtle touch of blue. Overall a fantastic knife and for sure my new favorite.
This knife is a real beauty. Very elegant and finely crafted. The blade shape is extremely nice with choil and swedge for really getting up on the handle for detail work. A very sharp looking knife (sharp as in fancy not sharp-edged although that too). All in all a flawless carry with one glaring exception, the saddest little pocked clip I have ever seen. I will be keeping my eye out for a more substantial pocket clip I can use as a replacement, otherwise another fine offering from CRKT.
