People have always talked highly of the Pilars for the money and it’s very easy to see why. This one, in particular, is the first one I ordered and I LOVE it. Ergos are fantastic, action broke in very smooth, the blade is useable for my day-to-day tasks. I love the D2 and micarta, great value! I also own the green micarta scale one as well, but I like the feeling of the tan. Much more texture so it stays in the hand well. Definitely pick one up!
This is the first knife I’ve brought that I can say I am really disappointed in. The blade itself is fine, it is the micarta scale that surprises me in its poor quality. I have other micarta handles and love them. This one just feels rough. I keep hoping with time maybe it will be okay but this is not what I expect from CRKT.
I keep saying at least I got it on sale. The blade itself was solid but I couldn't look past how atrocious the micarta is. After 3 days of carrying, the stop pin broke the micarta scale. I don't understand why a simple liner couldn't have been used especially at the price point when it's not on sale. Wouldn't recommend the micarta version to anyone.
