Best version yet

Just received my Pilar and have to say that the weight difference is amazing. I have the original version and I don't carry it due to how heavy ot is. Now I've read the complaints of fit and finish, this verdion is no different than the original. What you're paying more is for os the lighter weight and superior blade steel. No pleasing people these days
Thanks Blade HQ for this version!
Great Folder

I own the Orange G-10 Pilar and use it for work, while I got this one for more of a Gentleman’s carry, but the backspacer is NOT flush with either of the scales like the other Pilar I own. Overall worth the wait for a better steel and in my opinion a better look.
Worth the wait

This knife is solid all around, great design, upgraded steel and a nice CF scale. I think it is easily worth the price of the upgrade from SS or G-10.
It doesn't quite make it to 5 star for a couple of reasons. The backspacer on my knife was slightly out of alignment and on closer inspection I found a big scratch and a couple of centerpunch divots in the finish on the inside of the backspacer and some scuffing on the outside. This is a soft aluminum part and just wasn't finished on the level as the other components. The pivot was stiff and and upon disassembly I found a huge burr on the blade's locking surface (again, not immediately visible). Cleaned up the burr and with a little light sanding on the backspace it looks a lot better. Love the knife now, but this one probably should have failed QC or gotten a little more TLC at the assembly bench.

Worth the extra money from the original for a cooler and sleeker look

I love the Pilar! This knife feels like it was made for me. Great ergonomics makes it fit my hand perfectly. Great blade shape and built like a tank, makes this the perfect knife for EDC.

My stainless steel Pilar is my every day carry knife, and getting this upgraded and beautified model was a no brainer.

Perfect build, blade centering and zero blade play. Gorgeous full carbon fiber scale and Sandvik steel makes this a knife I would recommend to everyone.
A step up from a already great knife

This knife is gorgeous in carbon fiber. To me this is the way it should of been designed from the get go. I have the all stainless steel version and I have been carrying it for over a year now and I love it. But this gem is just on another level.
Out of the box it's razor sharp and the action on mine is smooth.
Great exclusive, well done BHQ!
Now I Get it!

I knew the Pilar was popular but I had no experience with one.
When I saw this premium version become available I couldn't resist the upgraded steel and lighter weight afforded by the CF scale.
This BHQ exclusive is a homerun.
The ergos are similar to the Spyderco Lil' Native.
Locks up solid, nicely sprung lockbar, crisp detent and good centering.
Ground fairly thin.
Carries well tip-up.
Thanks CRKT and BHQ! I just doubled my CRKT collection :)
Pleasantly surprised

Agree with first review on all good points. I have owned many Columbia Rivers and this knife definitely is a benchmark in quality for CRKT. Excellent build quality and detail. Centered, bead blasted lock side, even grind satin blade, CF is perfect.
There is slight drag on the action, pull detent off and it’s a lil smoother. Brass washer on the lock side, nylon on the CF side. Lock up is early but solid.
Pet peev: Blade steel is not denoted on the blade… just the label on the box. This upgrade was a big reason for my purchase, you’d think they would wanna get that on there? Doesn’t look or feel like 8/13..
I have seen the Pilar for a couple years and wanted to pick one up but the steel and weight kept that from happening. The G-10 versions; a bit bright and no steel upgrade?
This is the one you want.
If I never saw one and it had a expensive name and higher price tag,, I wouldn’t be surprised. 4 stars plus for exceptional construction.
Beautiful Knife

This knife is beautiful and well worth the $50 price tag. I tried to find any issues with the machining or anything and could find nothing. The blade is very sturdy with no play. Mostly I got it for the looks and not to carry it but you definitely can if you'd like. The blade shape and finish is beautiful. Its a little on the heavier side for its size, but it is definitely built like a tank. I would carry it to a friendly gathering or somewhere local around town where you wouldnt need a full size blade. The carbon fiber finishes this knife for a very clean and sophisticated look.

The only cons I have are minor:
-The folding action is kind of tight but can probably be fixed with a little breaking in.
-The weight. Albeit not very heavy of course. But to me its enough to not want to carry it over others.
