The Cold Steel Espada Series are superb knives with a high level of attention to the details that matter to you the user. The Medium Espada shares the well balanced weight distribution and features the same dramatically upswept clip point blade of the larger Espada knives. Cold Steel's TRI-AD lock, designed by Andrew Demko, is unsurpassed in resisting positive, negative and impact pressure by diverting these forces first to its unique stop pin and then throughout the entire handle frame.

The Medium Espada has a Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel blade that is hollow ground to a razor sharp edge. The state of the art pistol grip handles are strongly curved and equipped with multiple finger grooves and even a sub-hilt for either a forward or reverse grip. The handle frames and integral bolsters of the Espada’s are CNC machined from a billet of 7075 aluminum. The mirror polished dovetailed bolsters are attached to the glossy black G-10 handle scales using the latest high tech fasteners.

Unique, secure, hard to close.
Eric J.
When open, the Espada feels good in the hand, and as the videos demonstrate, this is probably very durable. Nice blade shape. If you're looking for shock value, this has a unique appearance and has personality.
I cannot release the spine lock with one hand, and I like to be able to open and close with one hand. There is a large space between the thumb stud and frame, so it's not the most reliable opener either. Very visible in the pocket. Taiwan.
