I purchased my Recon Tanto directly from Cold Steel over 15 years ago, either in '01 or '02. It is the beefiest knife I own. Although the sheath it comes with leaves some to be desired, it does do its job and is somewhat customizable. The blade does rattle in the sheath and it only hangs from a belt. The knife itself is great. The ~1/4" blade has been used to pry, chop, chip and chisel. Although the blade is overbuilt, it feels quite balanced, although Tanto blades aren't the best for slicing. The blade material takes a bit to take an edge, but it does last, probably because of the relatively shallow grind. Would recommend if it fits your needs.
