The Cold Steel Talwar folder was designed by celebrated custom knife-maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson. It is named after the Indo-Persian sword that was used two hundred years ago.

The Talwar folding knife features a flat ground Carpenter CTS-XHP stainless steel blade with a continuously curved cutting edge from choil to the upswept point. The G-10 handle is textured and contoured with pistol grip style finger grooves for comfort and safety. Add to that the strong Tri-Ad lock and the Talwar is the real deal. Includes a reversible tip-up carry pocket clip.

Fast on the draw, the Cold Steel Talwar comes equipped with Andrew Demko's revolutionary ambidextrous thumb plate. By draw-snagging the knife on a pocket the Talwar can be in your hand quickly.

To start this was one of the sharpest mass-production knives I ever handled right out of the box.

This knife has a minimalist design and is all about function. First, the blade has a nice swedge grind on the top that reinforces the last half-inch of the tip, providing tremendous piercing power. Second, the handles are solid slabs of indestructible G-10 - no thin slabs requiring steel support liners here. Third, the grip you can get on this knife, with the above-mentioned G-10 slabs is secure, in both natural and reverse grips.

Even at only 4 inches this is a sizable knife, I'd categorize it as a pocket sword that is easily carried. The long curved belly of the blade just adds to the overall top performance of this knife.

The opening tab on the knife worked for me when opening the knife using the one-handed "wave" method. NO problems there, but others have claimed you can modify this tab to you liking. I found no issues with it.

Great knife offering Blade HQ, now just bring it back as those close-out prices!! :)
I stole it!

Got this when it was 64 bucks and it not only changed my mind about folders (fixed blades are now legal here and one can surmise the rest) for the better. I do fall in love with this knife more everyday. Pros: blade shape, handle grippiness, fit, finish and overall quality for the price. My only semi gripe is the opening plate doesn't work ad well as the Emerson Wave, but I hear you can mod it, no big one. Thanks for the sale Blade HQ!
