This DPx HEST/F Urban model is a Blade HQ Exclusive with a Jade Green G-10 handle.
The Urban is DPx Gear's first 100% USA made folder, featuring a compact build and a utility-packed design. This knife has a stonewashed 154CM blade with thumb stud openers and the patented DPx Gear blade notch — doubling as a bottle opener and quick open feature. Its titanium frame lock handle is fitted with a textured Jade G-10 front scale for added grip and style. The DPx Gear HEST/F Urban is the EDC knife your pocket has been waiting for.
Features:Thanks bladehq for the fast shipping! I bought this knife for work. As a state snowplow operator i wanted a knife with a glass breaker in case I came across someone needing help. I like how small the knife is. It's hard to open as of right now but I'm sure it will get better. I haven't tried the wire stripper yet but I'm sure I will with all the lights on my truck.
I was happy to see this DPX is made in the USA, and this EDC has some unique features. The natural jade G10 is seeet, and makes this EDC very light - 3.65 oz. The blade shape and hollow grind are A+. The Emerson-type opener works great, and this tactical EDC is 1.5 oz. lighter than most Emerson models. The Urban has no blade play, and locks up securely. The deep-carry pocket clip with glass breaker are nearly the same as the lionspy's. The detent is stronger than necessary, and I prefer a spydey hole to a thumb stud in general, Benchmade excluded. These are the only negatives, and the rapid deploy make up for these. Bottom Line - The light weight, deep carry, Emerson-like opener, awesome jimping, comfortable ergonomics in-hand, blade shape, craftsmanship, and pleasing aesthetics - made in the US - makes this Urban a winner. Thank you.
Got knife in today, love it, everything is just about perfect. The only complaint is it opens hard. Maybe with time it will get better, glad they are starting to make some in USA
It just arrived. Knife looks perfect, dead center, everything aligned, no sticky lock. Like in previous comment, detent is a little strong, it needs to break-in.
Won't add a lot for what is mentioned by other reviews down below. The needed size for the job, functions as expected, all added options count and usable, smooth operation and opens with authority yet slightly tricky because of the size you should pay attention that your mid. Finger is not pressing on the lock bar because it will add to the already strong detent... All that set aside the only thing that prevents it from getting 5 stars is that this tiny folder is advertised as a stout hard work knife but after some opening and closing cycles, the lock became 50-60% and if you press with your thumb or try to do some tasks with moderate torque it will travel to 70%.... NO PLAY at all but I wonder what will happen after couple of months of use. Slightly surprising to me at this early stage... will update feedback after few months of use. Bottom line. Yes it is worth it and I recommend it for the money
Ok knife, over priced for what you get, my blade was way off center and I find it a pain to effectively use the wave feature due to the deep cut out in the lockbar always snagging on my pocket. Blade steel could also be better for the price. Apart from that, it is a solid little knife.
