This Pro-Tech Emerson CQC7 sports a tanto blade with bead blast finished 154-CM stainless steel and a razor sharp plain chisel ground edge. The blue anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle shape is reminiscent of the CQC-7. The solid grip handle has notches up top for great traction. Convenient carry with the tip-up or down pocket clip.
The Pro-Tech Emerson CQC7 Auto collaboration combines the classic folding design of the CQC-7 and the convenience of an automatic knife. The action on this knife is exactly what you expect from Pro-Tech, it is superb!
This is my first Protech. And after spending the weekend with it, I can say... That I can't make myself Love the Chisel grind on the blade. The blade design is great, I love a big meaty tanto... BUT, The chisel grind, although razor sharp, never feels or acts as sharp as it actually is... It's sharp, I have 4 bandaids on my left hand that can attest to the sharpness of the blade. It's just different. The knife itself is solid as a rock, the knife opens like there's a rocket strapped to the blade. It's a perfect KNIFE, with (for my purposes) an imperfect blade. All in all. I love it... And I will be buying more Protech's (Secrectly of course, my Girlfriend may not approve).
