The announcement of an Emerson knife with a flipper and ball-bearing pivot has created a frenzy of excitement. The Rangemaster Sheepdog project was prompted by Lt. Colonel David Grossman, a former Airborne Ranger and West Point Instructor. He is well known in the military and tactical world and the founder/owner of Sheepdog Knife and Gun.
The Rangemaster Sheepdog knife has a familiar, time-tested build with titanium liner lock, G-10 scales and a 154-CM stainless steel blade that still comes with the standard thumb disc and Emerson's patented Wave Opening feature. This model has a Spear Point style blade with a stonewash finish and plain cutting edge.
This knife is so solidly built it quickly became my absolute favorite EDC. Highly recommended.
Blade: razor sharp and centered Action: smooth as silk Handle: super ergonomic and grippy Pocket clip: will hold it where you put it Balance: perfect Truly designed for the warrior (SHEEPDOG) as it comes out of the pocket OPEN, and if by chance not (or if it's laying out closed) one little flip and it's OPEN. Kudos to Emerson and Grossman !! A great design !!
Blade strength 5 stars. grip 5 stars. Smoothness 5 stars. Speed 5 stars. Lock up 5 stars Weight/size 4 stars. Other than weight which isn't horrible just a lil heavy, this knife is a perfect edc Utility/defensive tool. I'll carry the sheepdog over my spydercos and benchmades ect. When you hold it you'll instantly know this is a real fighting knife, not just a flashy "tactical" knife with cheap gimmicks. Highly recommended!
