Description

Description

This Covert Auto model has a black finished CPM-S30V stainless steel blade and a green multi-cam aluminum handle.

The Gerber Covert Auto is an evolution of the Applegate-Fairbairn folder with the addition of fast automatic action at the press of a button. It has an over-sized release button for easy deployment even with gloves. A front mounted safety engages in both the open and closed positions for secure carry and use. The Covert features aluminum scales with grip enhancing grooves and stainless liners to assure the rigidity of the handle. Its removable deep carry clip allows convenient and discreet carry. Comfortable, practical, and reasonably priced, the Covert makes an excellent tactical knife choice.

It's made in the USA and has quality blade steel. Also, the camo pattern is well done (anodized?) and seems durable. However, the lock-up leaves much to be desired as there is a lot of play in the blade. I decided to keep it since the most I'm ever going to cut with it is cardboard boxes, but I really was expecting much better quality for a $170 knife.
