This Mini Covert Auto model has a black finished CPM-S30V stainless steel blade with a partially serrated edge and a black aluminum handle.
The Gerber Mini Covert Automatic is an Applegate-Fairbairn design with fast push button activated automatic action. A front mounted safety engages in both the open and closed positions for secure carry and use. The Covert features aluminum scales with grip enhancing grooves and stainless liners to assure the rigidity and durability of the handle. Its removable deep carry clip and smaller size allows convenient and discreet everyday carry.
Great knife accept the pocket clip was always a little loose and kept slipping off on things, particularly seat belts. Sadly, I lost it this way in Maui. I hope whomever found it liked it as much as I did.
Like the design of this knife, blade and handle, very much. What I don’t like is the pocket clip being in tip down position which requires the knife to be turned end for end before deploying the blade when removing from pocket. Detrimental for fast deployment. Also Gerber Needs to tighten up their QC as there were issues, casting flaw in handle, albeit small, pocket clip way out of alignment and release button dragging on blade hindering opening.
