I never had an OTF knife before last December 2019 when I bought a Hogue Compound. I unboxed it, tried the action a few times. Hated the "SPROING" feeling when it deployed. And it felt cheap. I returned it promptly and gave up on OTF knifes. Then I did some research and found the RECON 035. Did some more research, and finally pulled the trigger and ordered one. The difference in quality between the two is noticeable. The RECON 035 deploys with authority and locks up solid with no toy-like "sproing". It has an Elmax blade in black and stainless and CF inlays. I have to restrain myself from actuating it unnecessarily. Its just that satisfying to use. Absolutely love it.
