Hogue, well known for the gun grips, has ventured into the knife world. Their first offering, the EX01 Tactical Folding Knife from their Extreme™ Series, is a rock solid entry.

Although the Extreme series features a button lock mechanism, this is a manual knife. The Extreme series is designed by Allen Elishewitz. The knives look good, they are comfortable and the function & action is beyond reproach.

The 6061 T6 aluminum handle is anodized OD green. The drop point style 154-CM stone-wash finished blade (plain) is razor sharp. The blade comes out with a refined smoothness and locks securely into place via the button lock mechanism. There is also a front mounted safety to lock the blade open even more securely. For easy carry there is also reversible pocket clip.

Perfect EDC!!!
Chris H.
I collect folding knives! I have a few cheaper knives like Kershaw and CRKT, and higher end production knives like Bastinelli, Reate, Protech, and Lionsteel, etc. But my Hogue EX01 is, by far, the most FUN and COMPLETE blade I own! The button lock on it is 100% rock solid! No blade play in any direction! Absolutely smooth action (after a suitable break-in time of course) and the blade just free-drops when you push the button! By complete I mean it is VERY sharp with the 154cm steel and light to carry! And, as my wife will tell you, VERY fun to flip and play with! Every time we are relaxing on the couch this is the knife I enjoy holding, flipping, and looking at with the beautiful OD green anodizing. It's almost a green/bronze. Very aesthetically pleasing.

Anyway, I highly recommend this tool if you're looking for something smooth, light, reliable, bank-vault solid, and razor sharp. Plus beautiful to look at. Allen Elishewits is such a talented knife maker/ designer that I am genuinely proud to own one of his designs. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive knife I own, however, it is EASILY the most carried and used! By far! Please do yourself a favor and pick one of these up! You will absolutely be happy with your decision!!!
