BladeHQ service was lightning-received sooner than promised as usual. The knife is robust. The blade is a scaled down version of the ka-bar 1258, except wider and shorter. The lock is solid, authoritative. You KNOW it locked. The blade, perfectly centered - no vertical-horizontal play. The grind, evenly made on both sides and hair splitting sharp from the box. The knife is a well finished product. Everything matches up, no sharp edges except the blade. I like the weight, you feel a real knife in the hand. The handle length gives you better reach in defensive scenario. The handle is "grippy" and comfortable but not abrasive. The clip offers deep concealment and though it holds the knife perfectly in the pocket, it will not tear your pants like CS knives. The tip of the clip creates a hot spot for my hand if I grasp tight or if I had to work with the blade for extended time. I will be removing it and pocket carrying, but it was well designed for those that like clips. It is the same size as my Buck 110, except longer handle and wider blade. I have no doubt this knife will be reliable in any scenario I may need to use it. Thank you BladeHQ, great price, selection and service
This straight edge knife is outstanding--very fast and easy to open and solid lockback--much better than sidelock. I had the other Ka-Bar mule with the partially serrated edge, but I did not like it--the straight edge portion was not long enough to be useful and cuts always contacted the serrations. This version is great--sharp, clean cuts and heavy duty blade. You can quickly sharpen it to extremely sharp edge.
When you open this knife you know for a fact it’s locked. I’ve batoned with this knife and the lock has never given out on me.
