Kershaw's automatic knife offering, the Launch Series, is simply superb. These knives have a compelling design, fast action, high-performance materials, and they're made in the USA!
Check out the Kershaw Launch Series for more of this awesome automatic!
Hop on this while they still have them! Wicked fast deploy; came razor sharp. Feels great in the hand, and is a superb slicer. This is an extremely good value, particularly at this price!
great knife just about the perfect sized blade and handle ergo's. now as to the early issues i mention ive seen a lot of you tube reviews that dinged it for failure to lock on opening but in the week or so since i received mine its never bounced in probably 500 fires so I'm quite happy ... if you are on the fence you'll kick yourself when they are gone if you dont get one
Action seems tight, if just a touch hesitant when it’s first fired. Blade arrived nicely sharp. Handle grips nice. Don’t love the pocket clip. In my opinion, every knife in this price range should come with a deep carry clip standard. But that’s not the case, so I won’t ding this knife for an industry flaw. All in all, very happy with the knife, as I am with all of my USA made Kershaws.
If you have a Kershaw Breakout you know what I am talking about. So hold on to it! This Launch 2 kicks open and hard just like the Breakout. Beautiful machining and design to. Alot of bang for your buck. I already have the Launch 1 and looking forward to getting the Launch 3. What a great new series of autos from Kershaw!
This is my favorite kershaw I own and my main edc.
I own multiple Keyshaws and a couple in the launch series. This is my favorite by far. Fast action, sharp steel, beautiful finish. Only thing I wasn’t excited about is the pocket clip.
When I saw the Launch2 was listed as a close out I had to get one. I wanted the OD/ black blade but they were gone. When the Black/ stonewashed blade arrived I was happy with it. Like my Launch7 the 2 is fast, sharp, and solid. Now get an OD/ black in so I can get another. As always Blade HQ is the place to go for great service. Rick
Action is snappy and no wiggle in the blade when deployed. For BACK jeans pocket carry the curve of the handle sort of matches the contour of your "posterior" so you don't feel the knife in your pocket. Would definitely buy this knife again.
Got one of these about three years ago from bladehq, sold it the other day to a freind.Carried it every day for at least two years-the red color had worn off the cornars of the handle, and the flag had worn off-other then that,it was just like the day I bought it.I quit carrying it because I got into collecting,(thanks mainly to bladehq)and I now have a ton of high end folders, but if I wanted an auto for under a hundred dollars, hands down,it would be one of the launch series from kershaw,(in fact,I just ran across the Launch 6,which I'm going for next month, because it looks so cool, and I know how good kershaw is,I can't resist getting it,and I know it'll end up in my edc rotation)
I own a dozen or more Kershaw knifes, it's great light weight, great feel, great quality. Instantly became a favorite carry.
Very nice Auto, way to go Kershaw!. The only thing that concerns me about this knife is that it might unintentionally fire or close during use due to the lack of a trigger lock switch. Otherwise this knife is better than expected by far. It is stylish and sophisticated but powerful and rugged. Feels like a quality build.
Snappy automatic made in the USA and is less than $100! What more do you want?!
The steel of the blade is superb, and the knife mechanism is positive. This knife fires hard and lock into place without a hitch. Buying an auto knife of this caliber is easy, because the quality is excellent and the price isn't prohibitive. It's easy to carry a knife this good that will "work like a soul inspired" yet won't "break the bank." This is the kind of knife that someone can buy just once, but carry for a lifetime. It reminds me of the old Alka-Seltzer ad that said, "Try it, you'll like it!" I'm certainly glad I bought it, because it's a winner!
Extremely happy with my new Kershaw Launch 2! Not real sure why it would be discontinued, but I sure loved both the knife and the discounted price. It opens fast, extremely sharp, with terrific quality. Absolutely ZERO critique. I also found the BladeHQ site to be excellent, and my knife arrived a few days earlier than I was told, a nice plus. More purchases to come!!!
I bought one of these in OD green and carry it often. A friend of mine liked it so much that he got me to order this one for him. After receiving it, I compared the two and they are identical. Solid firing and lock-up, even grinds, and no blade play. I really like the red bullseye button on the black. Looks as sharp as the blade is. I can't wait to give it to him. He's going to love it.
Definitely replacing my Griptilian for everyday carry. It manages to have a small form factor while still being a very hefty knife because of it's thinness and comes sharp enough to shave hairs out of the box. Like other reviews have mentioned there's zero blade play and it kicks nice and hard when it is deployed. On a personal note, I love the handle. The aluminum gives the knife a solid feel and the coating has this ever-so-slight gritty feel that makes it stick to the hand pretty well. I also admire the smart thinking of how they constructed this knife. There is more steel on the spine just before it thins out to the tip of the knife to help give some strength while there is less steel on the spine where the belly of the knife is making it slightly better at slicing. Very well made and definitely something i'm not taking out of my pocket for a while.
Its great, high quality, and fun to use
I bought this based on the price and the steel, and couldn't be happier. Very nice "snap" when it pops open. I actually think the picture does not do this knife justice. It's got great aesthetics. Slim, light, and clean. A great EDC!
The best auto knife I've owned. Very light weight with fantastic blade and the metal is the best and is extremely sharp. I was a little concerned with the handle being metal but the coating is really nice that's smooth but still gives you a great grip. The automatic is very snappy!!! Plus there is no play in the blade when it's out which is a big concern on auto knifes. A++++
I have numerous Kershaw knives, which are all my favorites in their own way. The Launch 2 I just purchased is my first automatic knife and I love every aspect of it. When I saw the sale price I couldn't turn it down - sure glad I didn't. Would definitely recommend this knife for EDC
Great knife for the price. Sleek design, snappy action, came sharp out of the box. Glad to call this my first automatic.
The launch 2 is fantastic. It is more of a gentlemens knife than the heavy duty rogue. It's slim profile is great for edc. Like all Kershaw Autos it is razor sharp and kicks like a mule. My buddy picked mine up and opened it and it shot right out of his hand and stuck in his leg. Use caution and check your local laws.
I ordered this knife because it seemed to be a good value for the money and the positive reviews. Nice snap when it opens, good steel, no movement of blade when locked open. Great value for the money.
I liked the first one, & when I saw they were discontinued I figgered I needed a spare (this is launch 2, #2). Seriously, this unit has good balance in the hand & is not too scary looking when it’s flipped out in a restaurant. A gentleman’s auto.
I have a Boker Kalashnikov, which is about half the price of the Launch 2. While this is still a budget knife, it is definitely of higher quality. Action is snappy and smooth. Build quality is excellent. Finish on the handle is grippy, but not rough. Blade was sharp out of box, but not quite razor's edge. The pocket clip is the weak point. It is short and wide, which makes it very tight and difficult to pull out of a jeans pocket. I would have preferred a deep carry clip design, but that would make it even harder to pull out.
Great knife. The nicest thing about it is the action. That snap tho!
A very beautiful knife . The action is very smooth and not hard kicking like previous reviews state . However unlike any other kershaw that I own , this knife did not come from the factory very sharp . I do not yet know of the steel quality , but if it as good as the sharpening , i will be very disappointed . I believe that to get the edge that I wish , i will probably have to change the bevel angle . ****Edit , this steel on this knife is very nice , though hard to put a razor edge on it . Buttery smooth action .
The blade came razor sharp and kicks like a mule. Love the blade and its shape, but the handles scratch very easily and can be scuffed much like DLC coated blade. I rested my phone on top of the blade for one night with little to no movement, but had some minor, yet noticeable scratches on the handle scales. The steel, despite being decent, is inferior to some other blade steels I've had the privilege to use.
Got this a couple years back. Quality steel, yet still easy to put an edge back on. Snappy action on this makes it a fantastic EDC, especially with slacks on. Just wish I could get a deep carry clip from Kershaw for this.
This knife has exceeded my expectations in every way, usually not a fan of metal scales but works great for this knife. Action is smooth and gives a nice kick. Only wish it rode a little deeper in the pocket.
