There are better knives at this price point.

It doesn't compete well with other budget knives, but if you are into the whole made in the usa thing then go for it. Just remember that the plastic handle version is pretty dang thick compared to the aluminum version. The action is nice, but mine came with a loose spring that shakes when the knife is open, I got a lemon though. Nice blade shape too, try it out for $35, its good if this is what you are looking for.
Buy it and use it.

I prefer the grippy GFN scales on this version to the aluminum ones. 420HC is not a very high edge retention steel but sharpens very easily and should be tough. The assisted open helps a lot when you have gloves on and this is a good knife to put to work. Great Value Made in USA

For the money this knife is awesome. Kershaw really got the heat treat on this 420HC right. The blade holds a great edge and the knife feels great in hand.

This is the best Kershaw that I ever owned.

A lot of knife for the $. The 420HC blade is impressive for the $, but I wish there was an upgrade for the 420HC w/ the GFN scales. I personally prefer the GFN over the aluminum - stronger, less weight.

For the price, I don't think there is a better knife. This knife is up there with the tenacious for value per dollar. The steel is heat treated very well so don't let it scare you away. Cheaper 420s cannot hold an edge at all, but this heat treat is done right.
Best Value, Great Knife

This knife is damn good, especially considering it is the single cheapest American made Kershaw. Blows the seemigly popular-to-EDC and also American made Skyline out of the water for less money, given it is indeed a larger knife.

Feels better in my hand than a Blur. Fit and finish is spot on. No blade wiggle, pocket clip works without shredding. Tip of blade is quite pointy and perhaps a bit more fragile as a result, just something to be mindful of.

Larger and heavier than I prefer for my EDC just walking around in-town. This would be the first blade I reach for to go for a hike or camping. Perfect for those who prefer a larger EDC that fills bigger hands well. Action is very snappy and lockup is good.

Wish there was a safety lock for the tip of the blade and thumb nibs on either side of the blade to open it instead of flipping, but then it would have to cost more......

Great knife at a most excellent value, go ahead and click that "Add to Cart" button.
