This Domin Mini model is built with a stonewashed blade and a blue G-10 handle.
The Kizer Domin Mini is a compact version of its full size counterpart. The simple, minimalistic design is perfect for everyday carry. It features a bohler N690 stainless steel blade with a flat grind and stainless steel liners with G-10 scales. It includes a pocket clip set for tip-up carry.
Features:I grabbed this knife during a Blade HQ promotion. It wasn’t really on my radar, but man I love it. The action is smooth and easy. I can operate it one handed without needing to look down at it. The blade has a super slim grind that makes it cut like a dream, and the stone wash finish promises that it will look nice after a little abuse. It’s nice and light. It fits in the pocket well and doesn’t have a flipper tab that pokes. I have a habit of using a knife while working around the house and setting it down. When I go back to use it again, I can’t find it. The bright blue makes it easy to find... I need tape measures made in the same color. The pocket clip is no frills and rides high. It’s what I expect from a Vanguard knife, but not my favorite. The G10 seems a little soft. I’ve marred it a little while opening a bottle (not my proudest moment). The plastic lanyard hole seems to be the Achilles heel. We’ll see how it holds up. The skinny blade holds an edge okay... I push hard and cut things that I probably shouldn’t cut with it. It dulls faster than fancy steel, but is easy to get back to a nice edge. I really like this knife. I had no intention of picking it up, but man I’m happy I did. This will make a great travel knife that I can throw in checked luggage and hope that it survives to my final destination.
This is a Kick Ash little knife. pros: -Great compact Size - solid construction - Solid lock-up, no play - Blade is dead center - good detente, can flick and slow roll w/ ease - comes very sharp - good weight -very smooth, not a free dropper (i like that) feels like butter, not quite sebenza smooth but pretty darn close - Solid pocket clip, tip down - bronze washer (sorry i prefer washers over bearings) - corners are chamfered, overall f&f is very good. Cons: - Grind was a little uneven - a little too much oil out of the box - internal stop pin (im more of a thumb stud as blade stops kind of guy) - lanyard loop is a little too small (i like leather nooses on my knives) - Blade steel (decent steel but cant complain for the price) conclusion: notice I was very nitpicky w/ my cons, this is a great knife. if you're in the market for a smaller edc blade or just need to feed the knife monster, this is a great choice. I'm a "made in USA" knife guy so pretty much anything made in China is out of the question, but i'm glad a made the jump. Super impressed w/ this offering from Kizer. This will rival and probably surpass anything in the price range. will definitely be purchasing the jade g-10 version when that is released. Again, if you're on the fence, don't be. make the leap and get it. Actually, i take that back, dont get it, more for me!
