Description:
The Original from Kizer Knives might look familiar to Kizer fans, as it's sporting the same eye-catching colorway and button lock as the Kizer Cormorant. The primary difference between the two models is the Original has a classic profile with a no-nonsense drop point blade, a pair of thumb studs, and a straightforward handle shape. The Original also comes at a shallower price point, making it easier for you to get your hands on one. Kizer excels at making hard-working knives that are fun to fidget with; once you add this folder to your collection, you'll find it takes both "hard-working" and "fun to fidget with" to the extreme. Taste a new level of EDC excellence with the Kizer Original.

EDC button locks are all the rage recently. I own this Kizer Original XL Micarta and the CJRB Pyrite. It may be bad form to compare an $80 knife with a $50 one because both are excellent values. For me, the Pyrite is a little too thin for my medium-sized hands and button is slightly too recessed for my taste. That little bump on the handle really ruins the almost perfect shape of how the blade and handle flow together. In contrast, the Kizer Original XL is .. well perfect. The micarta handle is perfectly sized and shaped attractively. The button is perfect. Although both knives have smooth ball bearings, the Kizer is definitely a cut above -- as smooth as any knife I own. As EDC knives go, I put the Pyrite, Original XL and Kizer Gemini (in micarta or CF) in the same category as the Ontario RAT 1/2 and CJRB Feldspar. All are excellent and worthy of consideration, depending on your wallet.
