This Tachyon III model has a black finished Elmax steel clip point blade with lime green Cerakote finished aluminum handles. Includes adjustment tool.

The latest generation of the Tachyon butterfly knife, the production Microtech Tachyon III, distinguishes itself from previous models with milled, single-piece channel construction handles, a spring latch, and a standard pocket clip. The blade showcases a non-sharpened swedge-ground tip and milled grooves with the Microtech logo, production date, and blade steel markings up front.

What would a brilliant design be without that smooth action you crave? The Tachyon III exceeds all expectations with an advanced ceramic ball-bearing pivot assembly that eliminates handle play and produces first-class flipping dynamics. The pivots utilize Viton o-rings for load dampening, and heat treated stainless steel retainer plates ensure long-lasting performance.

Love it, but has a big problem
Cade L.
Firstly the good points. It flips fantastically, the ball bearing pivots are super smooth and feel great. It was a tad stiff out of the box but after day one it loosened right up. Love the handle design, the ceracoat has a great finish Smooth but has enough texture so that you don't drop it. The spring latch locks and springs in the closed and open positions, love it. The color is cool as well

Ok now for the bad. First the pocket clip is a bit too small for use. I would like to see an included tool to remove the pocket clip and a much bigger clip. Now the big one, the tang pin. It backs out. I frequently have to tap it back in with a polymer hammer. I spend a good hour per day flipping and usually every twenty minutes or so I notice that it has moved. I think this is unacceptable from microtech, especially given the price. I own an ultratech and a ludt and they are perfect. I would say if you don't have the tools to fix this thing every twenty minutes, hold off or buy something else.
