Description

Description

This Tachyon III model has an partially serrated OD green clip point blade, durable type III OD green anodized handles, and an OD green pocket clip and hardware. Includes adjustment tool.

The latest generation of the Tachyon butterfly knife, the production Microtech Tachyon III, distinguishes itself from previous models with milled, single-piece channel construction handles, a spring latch, and a standard pocket clip. The blade showcases a non-sharpened swedge-ground tip and milled grooves with the Microtech logo, production date, and blade steel markings up front.

What would a brilliant design be without that smooth action you crave? The Tachyon III exceeds all expectations with an advanced ceramic ball-bearing pivot assembly that eliminates handle play and produces first-class flipping dynamics. The pivots utilize Viton o-rings for load dampening, and heat treated stainless steel retainer plates ensure long-lasting performance.

Good:
Lightweight but flips well with practice
Best serrations I have ever seen on a knife
M390
Channel construction
Latch is great
Bad:
Microtech screws are just plain difficult to deal with, it came with a driver the adjust the pivots but the driver got stripped on the screws
Serrations are very dangerous as they cut you easily
Pocket clip is slightly small
Out of the box the swedge will cut you, be sure to dull it (this removes the paint on the edge but I don't care)
I dont know what the cost would look like If it was made from steel, but I wish it was heavier
Paint will come off from the latch touching the handles
Whatever lubricant is in the pivots smells very bad at first, but it goes away

All these cons aren't enough for me to not like it, they are just thoughts. I only wish there was a plain edge available in a color I liked. Definitely worth buying this
