This is a great knife. As soon as you hold you feel the quality and why you raided the kid's piggy banks to buy it. Seriously though, this knife is awesome for a production knife. The action is serious and the blade plays almost imperceptibly. Highly recommend it unless you've got weak little fingers that make it hard to actuate. If so this ain't the knife for you. The rest of you will understand why Microtech is the leader in the production of OTF knives.
This knife is awesome. The action is a little stiff at first but it loosens the more you play with it. The blade steel is listed as Elmax but came as CTS 204p, which is fine because I prefer 204p. The bronze finish is beautiful. If you can get it, get it.
I've waited quite awhile to get this and was so excited. Premium steel, M390, ok thats good. I like 390. Boy was I disappointed when I finally received it and it's INCREDIBLY DULL... WOW. Very disappointed.
I was totally entranced by the crisp switch action microtech is known for revealing the bronze Apocalypse finish. Then as usual I pulled out just a regular printing paper and had my heart sank when the blade was so full I tried to make this 350 plus piece my FIRST knife I would learn how to sharpen with my newly acquired angle sharpening system from XYZ solution I've acquired It did not work well I didn't guess the angle correctly from the years up to a month ago and tried to reprofile with a 40 degree ceramic angle used for making a whole different micro bevel. If you know what I'm talking about you'll know the cringe and total horror job and total injustice I did to this fine blade because it was out of the box dull dull DULL. The two stars is not for the blades quality or sharp tip that would puncture anything rather it's dullness out of the box whoever's fault that may be. NOT MY incompetent SHARPENING ADVENTURE. Great Knife if it was sharpened correctly with a flat grind at 22 degrees or 22.5
This one came is so stiff that it was nearly unusable. Took some serious cleaning, polishing, and work to get this tolerable. For a $300+ product I expected WAY better than this. I have no intention of purchasing another Microtech. I'll look elsewhere for the next ones.
