The Mikov Predator spring knife is a covet-worthy automatic knife that is made in the Czech Republic and features an elegant build. The Mikov series is well-regarded for their "ready to work" no nonsense design. Rivet construction. The knife is opened using the small lever near the top of the knife. The lever rests flush in the handle when not in use and acts as a safety when folded down.

Ups and Downs

Was really excited to get this as a gift, and for the most part, it's held up to expectations. The twin leaf springs give it an authoritative snap, and the overall design is sturdy- thing's built like a tank. It's got a heft that sits well in the pocket. The steel isn't top notch, but that can be overlooked in favor of the overall aesthetic.

BUT: The fit and finish isn't great. The studs holding the knife together don't sit flush with the scales, and tend to catch in the pocket.
The blade is a little off-center. The scales don't quite fit the bolster, disrupting the overall continuity of design. And finally: when you order ebony wood scales, you should get ebony wood scales as advertised. Took me a while of puzzling over, but I eventually realized that what was advertised as ebony actually appears to be micarta plastered over with lacquer. Still quite pretty, but honestly, I feel a little ripped off. Even given the other design flaws, would give it a higher rating if not for that.

This knife was shipped and recieved on time! The main thing I noticed when opening the package was how discreetly and carefully the contents were wrapped! The two mikov predator knives I ordered were in perfect condition. I love this company and the mikov predators! I will be doing all my online knife shopping here!!!
Excellent Knife-Fast Firing!! Strong Solid Lock!!

Carry this knife as a first responder. Durability-mixed with practicality-you can change the spring if it ever wears out (trust me-the odds of this happening are ZERO)-as easily as changing the magazine on a tactical reload. Thus knife uses 2 "rod springs" nice and fat side by side which you can find internet shopping. Spartan workmanship- not pretty but this is one tough work horse of a knife. Ordered mine with a belt clip-still carry this knife as a First Responder. Criticisms that may appear-sometimes you loose "track " of which side the sharp side is and if you do cut your thumb nails (not being funny here), flipping the lever to fire the knife may be an "issue." This knife is extremely safe because of this "lever" and you do not have to worry about this knife "deploying by accident in your pocket." Superb-durable-practical-will last a lifetime!! "A little chunky!"
Sweet, but the multi-tool is my favorite.

The Czech mechanism is different, unique and cool. The ebony wood scales are nice, but dark horn is the best of this bunch. This Mikov had a bit of blade play, compared to the multi-tool which have solid lockups in both dark horn and stag. Enjoy. Thank you.
