Does outstanding with outdoors tasks. Very robust with a thick handle. Does great for processing wood or Tasks that folders shouldn't do.
Feels great in hand, no not spots or sores from using it extensively. comes very sharp right out of the box.

This big guy and chop wood like an ax. It is unbelievably sharp and the perfect size to chop, the handle feels awesome in my hand with two finger grooves. it holds an edge after many cuts. I'm not a huge fan of the sheath that it comes with. it does protect it and makes it easy to carry but it raddles when it's inside. you can get the older brother ESSE 5 kidex sheath that fits perfect.

My go-to camp knife, the Rat 5 takes a beating like it's nothing. The 1095 steel holds up great even after having to baton through small logs.
