Solid for the price, happy with it

This knife is basically a shortsword or seax. Really big for a knife, slightly different shape and better quality than most machetes. Good for chopping and kinda whatever innawoods stuff. The handle is big, but fits my hands perfectly. I wear XXL gloves so keep in mind, it's a big handle. Even my Becker handles feel small now. Simple micarta slabs are nice, no need to change or upgrade. (Are you listening Kabar?) The first one I got from BHQ came with a visibly bent/warped blade. I returned it without a hassle and got a replacement that is good enough to keep. There is still a tiny imperfection in the blade, but small enough most wouldn't notice. The quality control should be better for the price though.

great blade for the money

The first rtak2 I owned I bent soon after getting. it was the older version made in 1095. Ontario Knife Company didn't give me the run around and quickly sent me the new version made in 5160 steel. I haven't had any issues with this knife and even liked it enough to up grade to OKC G10 handle scales. for the money I think the rtak2 is a great deal. if you have small hands be prepared to do some file work on the micarta handles
