Description

Description

The Runt J4 has an 154-CM stainless steel California legal blade (black plain). The blue anodized handles are milled from T-6061 aircraft aluminum. Despite the knife's small size it feels very good in the hand (it feels much bigger than it is) and has superb action. It opens like a rocket and locks up solid. The Runt J4 also has a black coted pocket clip.

Protech gets 5 stars. Iíd give them more stars if I could. But this, The Runt, Iíve gotta knock a star off for some small issues Protech have addressed in other newer models. Fit and finish is 5+ stars. Value gets a 5. Materials are top shelf. Firing and lock up 5+. Great great little knife. Easy to carry. Fun as heck to deploy. Came shaving sharp. Havenít had to resharpen and itís been a few months. Only qualms and reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 is these; only tip down/right carry and thatís more than a preference issue because this means the blade is not secured next to the seam inside your pocket and has the potential to deploy in pocket. Itís never happened thanks to the button being recessed enough to neccicitate deliberate pressure to engage..BUT it could happen. Also this knife would be GOLD if it had a deeper clip and a lanyard hole, which on a knife this size almost very much needs for a little extra purchase in hand. But even still the ergonomics are surprisingly really nice and there arenít any hot spots or reason to feel like the knife is insecure in hand. The clip is all but unnoticible while in use. Hell, I might do away with the clip altogether in exchange for a lanyard. But itís fine. So it seems my only 3 issues are carry preference related. Other than that, I FíN Love Protech. Iíve never met Dave but he just seems so nice and genuine I feel zero regret giving him my hard earned money. THANKS DAVE! Fan and customer for life but thatís the Cult of Protech. ALSO not for nothing, someone stole this from me so I bought another one to replace it.
