The TR-4 is a whole new take on Pro-Tech's popular Tactical Response line. It incorporates a much requested sliding safety on the front of the handle. This TR-4 features a 4" Smoky Gray DLC finished CPM-D2 steel blade with a plain edge. The ergonomic handle is black anodized T6 aluminum with a grippy "Feather" texture. The TR-4 is a knife that will not let you down. It fires hard, locks up like a rock (what else would you expect from Pro-Tech?) and feels great. The TR-4 has a pocket clip (tip up) on the back of the knife for easy carry.
Ive had this knife a few days now and I have to say I really like it. The materials are clearly top notch quality and the feathered machining is done very nicely, which does add a little grip texture but not really rough feeling by any means. Fires stout and has a very solid lock up. Maybe 1/4 mm of side to side and none at all any other direction. Safety has a nice positive click when engaging and disengaging. The blade came pretty sharp, not crazy sharp but enough to take hair off the arm. The only gripes I have is one of the grip's hex screw heads came a little stripped out and the button is a tad bit gritty. Hopefully after some good use it will smooth out. Overall its a fantastic knife and I'm very happy with the purchase.
