Southern Grind specializes in producing high quality, USA-made knives. They were founded by country singer and knife enthusiast Zac Brown. His Georgia based metal shop offers innovative knife designs and metal works using the best materials on the market.

The Spider Monkey is a compact folding knife with a blue G-10 and carbon fiber handle and a CPM-M4 blade. The blade comes in a drop point style with a stonewash finish. It has a conventional flat grind and a plain edge. The handle scales have a textured matte finish which provide a solid, all-conditions grip. A short pocket clip is included with the knife, embellished with the Blade HQ insignia, for tip-up carry with minimal interference. The Southern Grind Spider Monkey offers durable construction and a smaller profile that is ideal for everyday carry.

Been wanting to pick one of these up for a while and I'm glad I finally did.Fantastic edc size, blade shape and carry.Good smooth action I just wish the detent was a little stronger, but it gets the job done.Plus I got the bonus of the M4 and blue scales which look great.
Great little EDC knife

This knife is very nice. The craftsmanship and overall design is excellent. The action seems to be nice and smooth (though I am excited to see how it does after some extensive pocket time). The G-10 handles are a little small for my big hands but its not to big of a deal since my picky like to wrap around the butt of the handle allowing me to get a secure grip. My only complaint is the jimping on the liner lock does provide a hot spot if gripped to tightly but something I can live with.
It feels great in the hand

Once the clip is removed this is a very ergonomic knife. I normally remove the clips on my knives because I carry deep. It's just the right size for EDC, although slightly over 3 inches. The Blue G-10 scales are very attractive. My only issue is the proprietary screws on the scales. The pivot also looked proprietary but it's a T8.
