The blade shape is fantastic for daily work, with tons of belly and a slicy profile. 8Cr13Mov is a super basic steel, but it takes a keen edge and can maintain it if stropped regularly. Very smooth action (though not very flicky), and great ergos. It's basically a locking UKPK with a higher-maintenance budget steel. At under fifty dollars, you can't afford to not have one.

I picked up this one for myself and an OD green version for my girlfriend. We both absolutely love it! Yeah if you are a steel snob it's not the top steel but for EDC use it works great for me. Holds a razor edge that slices like a hot knife through butter on most materials and has been holding a great edge. On top of that it's just good looking, I mean that stainless steel backspacer! If you are looking for an affordable Spyderco that performs then go for the Efficient!

Wonderful starter knife -- this ending up being a gift for a non-knife person. Great blade shape and solid construction at a very fair price. Minus one star for the overall weight as it's a bit heavy for the size.
