Description

Someone asked Spyderco’s chief designer “if your son or daughter deployed, what knife would you send with them?” That question raised three powerful considerations: 1. The blade had to have relentless cutting performance and edge life. 2. It had to be lightweight, ergonomically practical. 3. For field-use it needed to be manufactured to be as indestructible and failsafe as humanly possible.

Since the steel is the spirit of the knife, CPM-S30V seemed the logical choice for the blade given its reputation for long-term edge retention and rust resistance. The 'Millie' has a modified clip-point blade laser cut with a 14 mm Spyderco Round Hole for quick deployment and for use with gloves. Texturing above the hole hold the thumb in contact with the blade's spine during cutting for confident control over the sharpened edge. The handle scales are G-10 with the lock's liner nested (inlayed) directly into the scale, pumping up lock strength without the addition of bulky liners. Spacers between the scales create a gap running the handle's full length exposing the inside workings for inspection and cleaning. The handle flares slightly at the front end creating a finger choil and at the butt end, which keeps the knife from slipping forward or backward in the hand while sawing or making tough or aggressive cuts. A contoured black metal clip is set for right-hand tip-down carry.

This Spyderco surprised me. Despite being a big knife it really disappears in the pocket. Super light, super thin, and everything feels very refined.

So far I haven't had any issue with it, the action is very smooth and the blade very utilitarian.

Definitely will want another Spyderco after feeling how quality this knife is.

This is my first Spyderco knife and it is now my favorite everyday carry. It came out of the box sharp as a razer and has great g10 scales. I am definitely coming back for another Spyderco knife.

I live in Colorado and was lucky enough to have discovered Spyderco early on. My Millitary is the original version and fully serrated so it CUTS. It is a magnificent cutting tool and practically jumps into to my hand it opens itself. It’s extremely comfortable in my hand and easy to open because of the large hole. The G10 is grippy. And no, it is not too large!
Well made but too big

This knife is very well made, very lightweight and slim with an excellent blade shape and ergonomics, it's just too big. It's too long for how thin the blade stock is, leaving me nervous to use it for as hard use as a knife of this size should be able to handle. Otherwise it's a great knife, just not for me.
A monster of an iconic blade

This is a great overall knife. If you need to open packages, prepare food or do anything in-between. It might be too large for some everyday chores, but it might be the only knife you ever need.

I collect a little. I have a few benchmades, cold steels an Ontario or 2 and some kershaws. Ok I own a lot of knives but never any spydercos. This knife is hands down the cats meow. What a sharp, fast to open, perfect EDC/Tacticool tool this is. This is only my first Spyderco.
