This Military Sprint Run model is built with burnt orange G-10 handle scales and a premium CPM-Rex 45 steel blade for exceptional toughness and abrasion resistance.
The Military, aka 'Millie', has a large Spyderco Round Hole for quick deployment and for use with gloves. Texturing above the hole hold the thumb in contact with the blade's spine during cutting for confident control over the sharpened edge. The handle scales have nested (inlaid) liners, which contribute to the lock strength without additional bulky liners. Spacers between the scales create a gap running the handle's full length exposing the inside workings for inspection and cleaning. The handle flares slightly at the front end creating a finger choil at the butt end, which keeps the knife from slipping forward or backward in the hand while sawing or making tough or aggressive cuts. A contoured metal clip is set for right-hand tip-down carry.
Wasn't sure I was going to like this knife. The size of the blade and overall length. The One position clip, and the Liner-lock. Holy Smokes Batman was I wrong. I loved the shape of the blade and it cuts like crazy. So many big over-built knives do not cut great, but not this one. The knife also fits the hand great. the knife is also relatively lightweight. The clip is what is, but it does fit the pocket pretty well. I don't think the clip position would help much in any tactical applications, but I'm not a tactical guy. The rex-45 steel has done great so far. I'm a sucker for anything orange, but that may not please everyone. The blade is steel big, so this may not be the best for every application, but I love it. The liner lock is just fine. I love to spydie-flick this guy too. Overall, I Highly recommend this big guy.
