Spyderco Para 3 Custom Micarta Replacement Scales by Allen Putman (Green)

These scales are beautiful and fit my Para 3 perfectly. Installation was a snap. The scales fit right over the internal hardware perfectly and are exactly the right thickness for the factory screws. Once installed I finished them with a few drops of oil to make the color pop. The only thing that took a little work was fitting my Lynch Northwest deep carry clip, but all that takes is a little sandpaper and patience. Simply line up your clip, mark the lines, and sand out enough material so the clip lays flat and the holes align. Discoloration from sanding can be cleared up with a drop of oil on the fingers rubbed into the spot you sanded. Remember to go slowly. If the screws don't bite easily, you aren't finished. Don't force them.

The scales fit really well, one having a slightly larger space for the liner. Though one assembled, the knife works great. I think the knife is even smoother to open/close then with the stock g10. The scales are slightly wider too, which is nice. Glad to finally have some micarta handles.

I purchased these to change up my stock Para 3. I personally think they are a bit pricey for scales but it does the job. I had my blade acid washed and added a Lych NW grey Para 3 clip (which does not fit these scales. I used a Dremel to open it up so it would fit the clip). The 'green' is more greyish in color. Much better than the stock G10 it comes with!
